Interior Design

Colour creates the mood and feel of our homes. If you need help with selecting a furniture style, choosing a colour or locating an item for your home interior, speak to our interior designers. Our resident interior designer Miles bring many years of experience in the field of interior design.

Our design consultants often use the colour wheel in these three easy ways to create successful colour combinations:

Take colours from the opposite side of the colour wheel Choose colours that are next to each other Mix different tones of the same colour

The wheel is made up of primary and secondary colours and their tones. Primary colours are the red, yellow, and blue. They are pure colours and cannot be made by mixing other colours together.

Combining these three primary colours makes up the secondary colours. Primary and secondary colours from the outer ring of the wheel. Each primary and secondary colour has a tone. These tones are shades in the inner circles of the wheel.

The wheel also defines warm and cool colours. These are defined by what we see in nature...the cool blues and greens of mountains and forests... the hot reds and yellows of deserts and sunshine.
